OLi has been selected by rSmart as the preferred hosting facility for the company’s Sakai-powered Collaborative Learning Environment (CLE) solution. rSmart’s CLE product offers schools a powerful and customizable tool that can deliver online course content, provide collaborative tools for research, as well as online portfolios that can be used to share work. rSmart’s CLE interfaces with Sakai, one of the most popular open source e-learning solutions.

OLi and rSmart Join Forces

OLi will be providing the hosting and technical support for rSmart’s CLE products, while rSmart offers its customers the software training and support that help schools embrace the new open source technology. Both companies are committed to helping academic customers achieve a seamless transition from using a commercial online learning vendor to the lower cost and flexibility of the new open source e-learning solutions. In the new arrangement, OLi will continue to deliver the hosting and networking expertise its well-known for, and rSmart will provide Sakai training and support for customers. This combination of solutions enables schools of all sizes to get up and running with Sakai CLE in a very short time frame.

OLi Works with Leading Educational Publishers

OLi is proud to be working with leading educational publishers to deliver customizable content to institutions piloting open source course management solutions. These educational publishers are working with OLi on pilot Sakai programs at colleges and universities across the Southeast. Educational content from these publishers is available online to the students and instructors involved in the pilot programs. This web content is delivered via a customized Sakai e-learning environment. OLi is hosting the online courses, and in conjunction with Unicon, providing IT support and training to these schools.
